Zaga’s ability to fuse her vision with the expertise of her collaborators results in a track that resonates on both an artistic and emotional level.

— Canadian Beats on “Written in the Earth”

The ethereal, cosmic like soundscape, backed with a subtle almost tribal beat, takes you on a journey beyond this realm… I look forward to hearing more from this artist and her growing catalog of music!”

— The KILLOGIC EFFECT on “Goddess of the Dawn”

“[Zaga’s] voice, ethereal and evocative, over an experimental art-pop backdrop, preaching resilience and seeking balance. Together, forming a riveting sound that is dramatic and spiritual.

Biography

Immerse yourself in Aileé Zaga’s world and let her unmistakable blend of dark and ethereal art pop transport you to the surreal landscapes of your imagination.

Aileé Zaga [I-leh Saga] is an artist, songwriter, and music producer based in British Columbia, Canada. Influenced by boundary-pushing acts like Björk, Imogen Heap, and Chelsea Wolfe, as well as evocative songwriters like Enya and Amy Lee from Evanescence, she artfully incorporates elements of electronic and classical music with industrial and doom metal, creating a balance between memorable melodies and experimental sounds. Her contemplative lyrics frequently explore life, love, and death through the lens of her experiences as a woman and an immigrant.

Known for her hauntingly beautiful and deeply emotional live performances, Zaga fuses sound, visuals, and dramatic elements to create an experience that feels like art in motion. She has captivated audiences with her immersive shows and magnetic presence, inviting listeners to escape the monotony of everyday life, and lose themselves in her spellbinding soundscapes. She has opened for acts such as Luke Wallace, Locarno, and Down The Lees.

In November 2023, Zaga unveiled her single, “Written in the Earth,” a dramatic art pop track which received praise from The Permanent Rain Press, and Canadian Beats. Co-produced with Alex DeGroot, best known for his work with Zola Jesus, the song showcases Zaga’s intricate blend of styles and lyrical prowess.

Zaga is beginning to carve out her own space in her local music scene, earning a nomination for “Best of Kelowna 2024” in the categories of “Best Local Musician” and “Overall YouTube Channel.” She has been featured in several Canadian outlets such as The Permanent Rain Press, Global Okanagan, Canadian Beats, and KelownaNow, among others. The KILLOGIC EFFECT praised her 2022 single Goddess of the Dawn, saying, “[This song] takes you on a journey beyond this realm… I look forward to hearing more from this artist.” Additionally, she has been highlighted in underground music publications like ReGen Magazine and Women of Noise. In 2023, she was featured in The Art of Pressing Play, a documentary series directed by Fatiha Rezwan.

Zaga uses her platform to increase the visibility of women in the music industry through various collaborations on her YouTube channel, which has amassed over 106.5K views. In 2021, she participated in the project Ninety, where proceeds supported organizations that educate gender minorities in the audio industry.
